Elementary Teacher / Instructor

The Elementary Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in a Christ-centered learning environment that nurtures the academic, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical development of students.
The teacher serves as both educator and disciple-maker, integrating biblical truth into all subject areas while fostering a love for learning, strong character, and a biblical worldview.
At Trinity Christian Academy, elementary teachers play a vital role in laying a foundation for academic excellence and spiritual formation, partnering with families to help students grow in wisdom, knowledge, and faith.
requirements
- Must be a Christian and actively attend a local church
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Teaching certification or eligibility preferred
- In-depth knowledge of teaching methods
- Demonstrated heart for discipleship and Christian education
- Knowledge of child development and elementary education best practices
- Prior elementary teaching experience preferred
- Physical ability: walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 30 lbs
- Full-time position (Monday–Friday)
- Work hours: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Desire for continued professional growth and willingness to travel if necessary

- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and staff
- Follow and enforce school rules, policies, and procedures
- Support the philosophy and mission of Trinity Christian Academy
- Adapt to change and perform additional assigned duties
pRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Classroom Management & Learning Environment
- Create a safe, nurturing, and orderly classroom environment
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and procedures
- Promote respect, responsibility, kindness, and Christ-like character
- Utilize positive classroom management practices balancing accountability and grace
Spiritual Formation
- Model Christian values and biblical character
- Lead students in prayer, devotions, and biblical discussions
- Encourage spiritual growth and a biblical worldview
- Support chapel services and faith-based initiatives
- Approach teaching as ministry and students as disciples
Student Development
- Support academic, emotional, social, and spiritual growth
- Recognize and respond to individual student needs
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking
- Foster an environment where students feel known and valued
Parent Partnership & Communication
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with parents
- Partner with families in student development
- Conduct conferences and provide progress updates
- Respond to concerns in a timely and respectful manner
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and staff
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events
- Support school initiatives and mission
- Perform duties such as supervision, carline, or lunch duty

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design engaging lesson plans including notes, tests, and assignments
- Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment
- Organize instructional materials and resources
- Deliver personalized, interactive instruction
- Plan educational activities and events
- Keep classroom clean and organized
- Prepare progress reports and report cards
- Attend parent-teacher meetings
- Evaluate and document student progress
- Assign and grade homework and tests
- Develop teaching aids and study resources
- Create and administer assessments
- Meet with students, parents, and staff regarding progress
- Maintain student records (attendance, grades, behavior, etc.)
- Attend training, conferences, and professional development
- Participate in staff meetings and school events (including evenings/weekends as needed)
- Report to the Chief of Guidance & Instruction and Head of School
- Perform additional duties as assigned
