Assistant Director of Preschool

job Description

We are seeking talented individuals who want to help shape young minds and teach them the skills they need to be successful. The Assistant Director of Preschool supports the Preschool Director in overseeing the daily operations, curriculum implementation, and staff management of the preschool program. This role ensures a nurturing, faith-based learning environment while maintaining compliance with state and local regulations.

The Assistant Director will assist with teacher supervision, parent communication, enrollment, and administrative tasks to foster a high-quality early childhood education program.

requirements

  • Must be a Christian and actively attend a local church
  • Preschool Director credentials required
  • Experience teaching and working with children and students
  • Assist the Preschool Director in managing daily preschool operations
  • Maintain compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and school policies
  • Support scheduling, staffing, and teacher-to-student ratios
  • Oversee student records, attendance, and required documentation
  • Assist with preschool events, parent meetings, and professional development sessions
  • Physical ability: walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 30 lbs
  • Full-time position Monday through Friday
  • Work day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Desire for continued professional growth and willingness to travel if necessary

essential responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others
  • Follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures
  • Support the philosophy and mission of Trinity Christian Academy
  • Adapt to change and handle other assigned tasks
  • Support teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and faith-based learning experiences
  • Monitor lesson plans, classroom activities, and instructional methods to ensure quality education
  • Collaborate with the Preschool Director to assess and improve the preschool program
  • Support teachers with differentiated instruction and best practices

responsibilities

  • Supervise classes to ensure students are learning in a safe and productive environment
  • Organize supplies and resources for lessons and presentations
  • Deliver personalized instruction through interactive learning
  • Plan and implement educational activities and events
  • Ensure classrooms remain clean and orderly
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of preschool staff
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to improve instruction
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings
  • Attend training sessions, conferences, and seminars for continued professional development
  • Participate in staff meetings and school events, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Report directly to the Preschool Director and Head of School
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Preschool Director or Head of School
