Teacher Assistant

Full-Time | Deltona, FL

job Description

  • Must be a Christian and actively attend a local church
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in office software, data entry, and communication platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Physical ability: walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 30 lbs
  • Full-time position Monday through Friday
  • Work day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with game schedule rotation
  • Desire to continue career improvement and travel if necessary

  • Teaching certification or eligibility preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of teaching methods
  • Demonstrated heart for discipleship and Christian education
  • Knowledge of child development and elementary education best practices
  • Prior elementary teaching experience preferred
  • Physical ability: walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 30 lbs
  • Full-time position (Monday–Friday)
  • Work hours: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Desire for continued professional growth and willingness to travel if necessary

essential responsibilities

  1. Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others
  2. Follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures
  3. Support the philosophy and mission of Trinity Christian Academy
  4. Adapt to change and handle other tasks as assigned

pRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional Support

  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons and instructional activities
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce concepts and support learning
  • Provide academic assistance under the direction of the teacher
  • Help prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers
  • Support differentiated instruction to meet student needs

Classroom Support

  • Assist in maintaining an orderly, safe, and engaging classroom environment
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and procedures
  • Reinforce classroom expectations and behavior standards
  • Help supervise students during activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned times
  • Assist with organizing classroom materials and maintaining an effective learning space

Student Care & Support

  • Encourage and support students academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Assist students with tasks, organization, and classroom responsibilities
  • Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement
  • Support students in developing responsibility, respect, and Christ-like behavior

Administrative Support

  • Assist with copying, filing, preparing materials, grading support, and clerical duties
  • Support record keeping and organization as assigned
  • Help maintain supplies and classroom readiness
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the teacher or administration

Spiritual Support

  • Model Christian character and biblical values in daily interactions
  • Support the teacher in fostering a Christ-centered classroom environment
  • Participate in prayer, devotions, chapel, and spiritual activities
  • Encourage students in their spiritual growth through words and actions

RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Design engaging lesson plans including notes, tests, and assignments
    1. Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment
    1. Organize instructional materials and resources
    1. Deliver personalized, interactive instruction
    1. Plan educational activities and events
    1. Keep classroom clean and organized
    1. Prepare progress reports and report cards
    1. Attend parent-teacher meetings
    1. Evaluate and document student progress
    1. Assign and grade homework and tests
    1. Develop teaching aids and study resources
    1. Create and administer assessments
    1. Meet with students, parents, and staff regarding progress
    1. Maintain student records (attendance, grades, behavior, etc.)
    1. Attend training, conferences, and professional development
    1. Participate in staff meetings and school events (including evenings/weekends as needed)
    1. Report to the Chief of Guidance & Instruction and Head of School
    1. Perform additional duties as assigned
