Trinity Christian Academy is accepting applications for a High School Dual Enrollment Science Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. A Master’s degree is required. Part-time is available if the teacher desires to only teach DE classes. Full-time might be available if the teacher desires to teach all day.

TCA is a Pre-K through 12th grade college preparatory academy located in Central Florida. Established in 1986, the academy features a fully accredited program, music, drama, computers, foreign language and visual arts as well as field trips and special events all year long — all in a loving Christ-centered atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Must be a Christian and actively attend a local church.
  • Master’s degree is required.
  • Experience working with children and students.
  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting of up to approximately 30 pounds may be required.
  • Full-time or Part-time position Monday through Friday.
  • Desire to continue career improvement and travel if necessary.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Ability to communicate comfortably (written and orally) with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others.
  2. Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures.
  3. Support the philosophy and mission of Trinity Christian Academy.
  4. React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  1. Create and administer oral, written or performance exams that allow you to evaluate the effectiveness of your lesson plans and the progress of your students to determine which information needs further teaching.
  2. Meet with students, parents, other teachers and Chief of Academic Affairs to discuss students’ progress, address concerns, answer questions, provide constructive feedback and determine how students can further benefit from your classes in the future.
  3. Prepare and maintain student records to include attendance records, grades, behavioral reports, current courses, plans for their careers and contact information for them and their parents.
  4. Advise students on career decisions, including providing guidance and suggestions regarding future coursework, possible specializations and other career-related topics.
  5. Attend training sessions, conferences and seminars to further your own education regarding technological and procedural changes in your field so that you can provide the information to your students.
  6. Attend and engage in regularly scheduled staff meetings and occasionally engage in parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends. Attendance at Orientation and Open House preparations and event dates are mandatory.
  7. Reports directly to the Chief of Academic Affairs and Headmaster.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Academic Affairs or Headmaster.
